Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Memorabilia Drive

A drive to locate, acquire, authenticate, preserve and display material relating to the Maryland and Pennsylvania and its predecessors has begun. It is being undertaken by the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Group that has been presenting Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad month at the Old Line Museum in Delta, PA since the museum was founded in 1976. The group is the first and oldest group to so honor the railroad and its employees.

The group has stated that so much material relating to the history has already been lost that steps must be taken to prevent further losses. They feel that much historic material remains in the file cabinets, drawers, closets, basements and attics of those who have had an association with the famous short line and urge them to search for any material that they may have. It is important that it be made available for future generations to see and enjoy.

In a spirit of cooperation, the Old Line Museum, 602 Main Street, Delta Pa, is working this group by having the museum open for reception of located material on the following dates and time: February 23rd and 24th, March 23rd and 24th and April 20th and 21st form 1:30 to 4:00 pm.

The groups is especially interest in locating photos of locomotives, freight, and passenger cars, stations, along its route, other buildings, time tables, annual reports, newspapers articles and photos of former employees…also anything else even remotely connected with the railroad or its narrow gauge predecessors. On collection days, there will be a mini display of Ma & Pa related material.

For questions about pick up delivery of material or if the above dates are not satisfactory, please contact by phone at 410 371 3778 or by email at pa railroad stop
